Central Instrumentation Facility Laboratory

A well equipped Central Instrumentation Lab is established in the college since January 2007. Central Instrumentation Facility Laboratory was established from UGC-CPE grant catering to the needs of the students, teachers, research scholars and others in whole Mahakaushal area. Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Carbon Dioxide incubator, UV-visible double beam spectrophotometer, High Precision Balance and FTIR Spectrophotometer are available for use by the researchers, PG students and faculties. A Table Top X-ray Diffractometer has been procured out of the grant sanctioned under DST-FIST scheme, which has been successfully installed in January 2017.

At Central Instrumentation Facility Laboratory routine sample analysis was carried out on various Instruments. Not only the research scholars and M. Sc. students of this College were benefitted, candidates from other colleges and Institution also availed the facility.

A weak long training program was organised in November 2014, when Engineers and Subject experts gave Hands on training to Teachers, technicians and research scholars on Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Carbon Dioxide incubator, UV-visible double beam spectrophotometer and FTIR Spectrophotometer.

Training /internship for M.Sc. IV semester Chemistry students was arranged every year. The students trained regarding the laboratory hazards, laboratory safety measures, inventory management, etc. Hands on training were provided on all the instruments available in this laboratory. They were assisted to prepare a detailed report on any one of the instrument.

Recently X-Ray Diffractometer has been installed in this laboratory and the students were fortunate enough to witness and assist the installation starting from the opening of packing. The selected photographs of various events are depicted on following pages.
